- Many individuals use Marijuana to alter their state of mind or “get high” in the comfort and privacy of their own home.
- Cannabis is non-toxic, and it is physically impossible to achieve an overdose. Aspirin, Cigarettes, and Alcohol, taken independently, kill more people every month than Marijuana ever has.
- Marijuana is not physically addicting! There are no withdrawal symptoms (unless you need it as a medicine). Marijuana can be mentally addictive. It’s not that an individual CAN NOT stop using marijuana, it’s that some individuals DO NOT WANT TO stop using marijuana. This not wanting to quit can lead to a tolerance, which leads to high dosages, which leads to increased frequency, which leads to cannabis use disorder. However, if you moderate your usage and only smoke socially or on occasion, you won't get addicted. And addiction withdrawal is things like anxiety, irritability, sleep disturbance, and cravings. It's not like you'll have tremors or seizures like with heroin or alcohol.
- There has never been a causal relationship found between smoking marijuana and emphysema or lung cancer. You can also consume marijuana and receive its effects by ingesting it orally.
- There is no convincing evidence that shows marijuana causes psychological damage or mental illness, unless you are genetically predisposed to mental illness like schizophrenia or other forms of psychosis. Marijuana does not cause mental illness; it can only provoke or exacerbate it.
